Learning about “Discipline” this month at SMAKIDZ Academy

October 2015 is Discipline Month as part of SMAKIDZ Academy  Powerful Words Character Development program! All students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on understanding the importance of training themselves to do what needs to get done, when it needs to get done. In addition to all of the physical skills that they’ll be working on this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts both in and out of class:

• Discipline defined: How do we use “I won’t,” “I will” and “I want” power?
• Choices: What are the rewards of discipline & consequences without it?
• Discipline skills: What helps our brains & bodies focus?
• Work before play: How can people & teams become disciplined & successful?

“Discipline is crucial to helping children and adults thrive and become their best. Disciplined people train themselves to follow values-based rules that are enforced by themselves in a consistent manner. Whether these self-imposed rules are related to exercise, work, sleep or other areas of life, disciplined people do what needs to get done, when it needs to be completed.” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, SMAKIDZ Academy  child & adolescent expert, and creator of the Powerful Words Character Development system used at the facility.

Sensei Darren Hunter , Owner  of SMAKIDZ Academy  says, “We’ve found over the years that helping our members become disciplined helps them in every single area of their lives.
